This past weekend...

I moved:
7 crates of various crap
Assorted kitchen appliances
1 futon
1 bookcase
1 table
Some clothing
Assorted boxes of crap
Essential toiletries
Essential emergency cabling
So now I can almost say that I live in Greenpoint. The pets, on the other hand, do not until I'm settled in properly.
In addition, I have a new cheapass bike, the perfect kind for me. It's not too heavy, it's not too fancy, it just goes, and most of the time, it goes in a straight line. Four miles was a cinch, as I barely broke a sweat, my heart wasn't racing, and I wasn't even close to being short of breath, so all in all, I'd consider the experiment a resounding success. Now to get the bike to the apartment, and prepare to commute without any subway bullshit.
In other news, lifting, loading, and setting up all that crap has made me tired and kicked my metabolism back into overdrive. I lost my pudge, and I'm constantly hungry. Of course, it helps that I loaded the car in many many small trips, instead of a few huge ones. I'm not entirely back in shape, but a few miles via bike is nothing, and that's a good sign.
