OTFCC - Thursday
Aug. 4th, 2004 11:38 amSo, we overslept a bit. We took too long cleaning the hamster cages and taking care of the cat. We wasted time in small chunks getting ready to leave, as I'm a half-wit when it comes to preparing for a trip.
We made it to the airport with two hours to spare. HA!
Thursday was more or less uneventful. Security checkpoint, fly, iPod, land, grab bags, wait for hotel shuttle, wait some more, continue waiting, find out there are two Doubletree Hotels with shuttle service, wait a little longer, and then, FINALLY, we made it.
Upon arriving at the Doubletree lobby, I saw the first wave of #wiigii! already there in full force. Yes, once again, you crazy bastards managed to dominate an entire hotel lobby. The boy, not knowing what the hell was going on, rapidly sank into the background, whilst I ran off to check in, get Energon Mirage from
swifteagle, and drop off my bags.
Check-in involved a handful of swipe cards, an equal number of chocolate chip cookies, and some ungodly amount of money, had I not been splitting the room. Up in the room, traded Energon Tidal Wave for Energon Ultra Magnus with
susp, and went back down for... lunch!
Giordano's, some random deep-dish pizzeria in the vicinity of O'Hare, was suddenly overrun by 17 or so of us, all splitting pizzas with various toppings, but playing with transforming robots while we waited. Also, let's nevermind the various robosexual jokes running about, as various TFs were violated in ways that make my inner child want to run screaming.
After that, we hit the pool, where we learned that the "deep end" was something along the lines of 3'10". Quite disappointing, that. It resulted in us not swimming so much as attempting to drown one another.
I'm sure there was dinner after this, but I can't recall where.
Quotes of the day: "Well, you know the con's started when there's gay robot sex."
Others to be posted as you sick bastards remind me.
