A weekend of excitement?

Well, maybe not, but tonight, I get to see Monsters, Inc. at the Ziegfeld in digital. And yes, that should include the Star Wars Episode 2 trailer. Then it's off to visit the family, even though the kids will likely be asleep.

They'll wake up to find their brother sleeping in the guest bed, though, which should make them happy.

Then it's off to King's Plaza, since they want to buy me a birthday present. Armed with said "present," I then go to Krissy's birthday party. What happens there, I dunno. But fun is ensured. Then I either crash or get jumped on my way home. Yay whitey!

Then there's D&D on Sunday.

What is best in life?

Parties, and how to make a perfect geekfest.

1) TV sets. At least 3.

2) Consoles. 2 PS2's, 2 Dreamcasts, and at least one of all the others that may apply. PS2 and Dreamcast support a link cable style option, useful for Time Crisis 2 and VOOT. I hear the Xbox will also support this, but with a crossover cable. The jury's still out on the worthiness of the Xbox, though, so I don't care enough yet.

3) Light guns and steering wheels for each console. Maybe even DDR pads, as applicable.

4) A bigass table of food

5) A decently stocked bar, just in case. Or at least a huge cooler full of beer and related drinks, in addition to sodas.

6) A strong bigass table with nothing more than a series of surge protectors under it, and an ethernet hub on top. You do the math.

7) Jerky. Lots of Jerky. (The Matrix is telling my brain that this is turkey jerky...)

8) A stack of DVDs. If a DVD player cannot be provided, use the PS2s.

I think that's a basic listing. Maybe playing cards, a copy of "Before I kill you, Mister Bond..." and some such other stuff. DSL or cable modem access to the outside provided to the aforementioned Ethernet hub is an obvious plus.
