A vision of the future
Aug. 9th, 2001 01:50 pmMankind finally spreading to the stars, but stopped. Fantastic technology that doesn't solve all of life's problems. Humans still killing each other over petty beliefs. Aliens taking advantage of this while yet others attempt to save us from ourselves.
War, famine, discrimination on a galactic scale. Paradise on foreign worlds. Limitless energy, and boundless capacity for mistakes.
The human condition continues, no matter how miraculous tomorrow may seem.
I've been seeing this since I was six. We'll still need currency, we'll still have such emotions as love and kindness, but also hatred and cruelty. But we never forget what lies in between.
14 years. I've had this in my head for at least 14 years, although I can even remember drawing it out, and writing it down since I was four. Wondering why Captain Kirk managed to make everyone on his ship, on his side, like and respect him. Realizing that even this amazing reality could never be, because everything was too perfect. There was never any real inner conflict. They weren't people. They were simplistic silhouettes of what we were, and what we're destined to become.
So yes, I'm still developing my game. And I'll still adopt amazing new pieces of technology as I see fit, because none of it can change what we are.
That said, I need somebody who feels the same way as I do to help me develop this even further. The flesh it out, develop it, and help me produce something so clearly detailed, that people won't ask if it will happen, but *when* it will happen.
